The Rt Rev John Orfeur Aglionby, DD, MC (16 March 1884 – 15 May 1963)〔''The Rt. Rev. J. O. Aglionby Former Bishop Of Accra '' The Times Friday, 17 May 1963; p. 17; Issue 55703; col C〕 was an Anglican bishop in Africa in the second quarter of the 20th century.
Educated at Westminster and The Queen's College, Oxford, Aglionby was ordained in 1911 and began his career with a Curacy at Holy Trinity, South Shields.〔"The Clergy List" London, Kelly's, 1913〕 A Chaplain to the Forces during World War I, 〔(London Gazette )〕 when peace returned he was Vicar of Monkwearmouth“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3457-X〕 until 1924 when he became the 3rd Bishop of Accra. He retired to Orpington in 1951.
